Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels
Present in the market its new white wine: Casar Godello 2011 barrel fermented. Under a limited edition of 600 bottles, stands out as a white wine for aging.
Made from grapes of the local variety Godello, from vines over 50 years, located in the vineyard Valdepiñeiro Valtuille de Arriba, in the heart of the DO Bierzo. A terroir with an altitude of 600 meters, slate floors and quartz with traces of clay in the subsoil, which provides minerally aromas and flavors of this target. Definitely a special wine that has been fermented in French oak barrels of 500 liters, supplemented by a further twelve month aging on its lees and their corresponding "bâtonnages" also in French oak barrels of 500 liters.
In his impressions of tasting stands out for its beautiful bright golden color. On the nose notes of herbs (rosemary, thyme ...) and intense aromas of stone fruit and citrus. The contributions of French oak are very subtle, and provide pleasant aromas of spicy notes. The taste is smooth, silky, with optimum acidity and very balanced. With a lingering finish that leaves a harmonious aftertaste of nuts, derived from the work of aging on its lees in French oak.
